Re: R.I.P. Jackie Chan (1954-2010)He's a 55 year old action star. He can either fade into obscurity like other old action stars (JCVD, Dolph, Seagal, Snipes) or try and make the transition into another genre, most easily kids films (Vin Diesel, The Rock, Ice Cube). At worst he makes a paycheck, at best he makes a paycheck and gains a younger fan base. I can't say I blame him.
Plus he gave me Rumble in the Bronx, and for that he will always be in my good graces. Andrew Clark

Re: R.I.P. Jackie Chan (1954-2010)see i thought you were breaking news, this wasn't a good blog headline.
Do you take your hands and face off before you go to bed?
Jabba Shirt guy, sometimes (I found my Shawn Valdez shirt!!). "Raul stole everyones U-3PO's" put this in your sig if Raul stole all your U-3PO's
Re: R.I.P. Jackie Chan (1954-2010)Last time I check Steven has an AWESOME tv show. Jackie had other options. Like retirement, And the paycheck thing is BS since he still makes money overseas with films and he is going to star in Karate Kid. *Ka-Ching!!!* $$$ That was the point Last edited by cooleo1c on Thu Jan 14, 2010 12:11 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: R.I.P. Jackie Chan (1954-2010)what exactly is wrong with this film?
were you 10-15 years younger, you'd LOVE it, i bet, and then when you were your current age, watch it nostalgically. so because it's not for your age demographic, the guy sucks now?
Re: R.I.P. Jackie Chan (1954-2010)hes in the remake of the karate kid i think.
i was never a fan of the chan tbh, but the first and maybe second rush hour movies were ok, but i think cause chris tucker has been an acting prodigy ever since his debut in "friday"
Re: R.I.P. Jackie Chan (1954-2010)I bet it will do well, same with Paul Blark Mall Cop and so forth, because Tweeners love this sort of thing. That is where the real money spending power is right now in the US and movies and TV are really starting to go more towards it. Look at the Spider-Man change, they want it to be younger to appeal to this age. People know this is where the money is at.

Re: R.I.P. Jackie Chan (1954-2010)
the trailer for the karate kid remake is good (and so i'm hoping the movie will be as well) because it features jackie chan fighting 10 year olds. that will not fail to entertain. plus if the movie features a hip-hop remix of "You're the Best" then it basically will earn four stars automatically
Re: R.I.P. Jackie Chan (1954-2010)cooleo you seriously scared the crap out of me with that headline. I think you're being really unfair to Jackie Chan, dude just wants to entertain people. And honestly, Jackie Chan starring in what is essentially The Pacifier II is no big deal to me at all. Jackie Chan made me a fan of his based on all of his China-made stuff (Legend Of Drunken Master is one of my favourite movies of all time), and honestly I'll probably check this out eventually like I did Around The World In 80 Days, The Medallion, The Tuxedo, and The Forbidden Kingdom (which I actually thought was pretty cool). Cut him some slack.

Re: R.I.P. Jackie Chan (1954-2010)Jackie Chan was in Rush Hour 2 and 3, can't get much worse than that. Appears that's when he really died.
